A basic hand tooled mug starts off life flat. We mold it, shape it, add leather pieces to the handles, line it with another piece of leather on the inside and sew on a base to create a custom mug just for you. The whole 15 step process takes a little over 4 hours to make just one mug. Hand-tooled mugs on average take between 7 to 10 hours. We started making them in 1999 and have made over 6000 mugs to date. Let us make a piece of art just for you.

As promised, your mugs have traveled the world. Seeing over a dozen foreign countries, countless sunrises and sunsets, traveling over 100,000 nautical miles being filled with an immeasurable amount of coffee.
They have inspired my young crew, and even had a poem written about the symbiotic relationship the mug and I share. ‘The Chief with the leather mug’
I have now come ashore. Ironically, fairly close to your workshop. I’m the Officer in Charge of the Coast Guard Station in Saint Joseph Michigan.
I hope all is well. I use the mug daily. It is still truckin’.
